After all the events that have taken place in the last few months, the desire to switch gears and enjoy a well-deserved vacation outside the home is very present. It is clear that this summer is different from what we are used to, but that doesn’t mean we can't take the opportunity to travel and discover the beautiful corners and cities we have all over Spain. This year, we must travel more responsibly than ever and adapt to the “new normal,” always maintaining proper hygiene and respecting health measures to avoid any risks. If we all comply, we will enjoy the pleasure of traveling again! For that, here are some tips to ensure you can enjoy a calm and safe vacation this summer.
Don’t forget the new fashion accessories: face mask and hand sanitizer.
When it’s time to pack, if we’ve chosen to go to the beach, we never forget the towel, swimsuit or bikini, sunglasses… nor good footwear and appropriate clothing if we choose the mountains. This summer we cannot leave home without two new must-have companions: hand sanitizer and the face mask. They will be our best allies! In the entire country, it’s mandatory to wear a mask in closed spaces, so we cannot leave it at home. Furthermore, almost all regions have also implemented its use in open spaces, even when interpersonal distance can be maintained, as it is essential to protect ourselves from any risk of contagion. Additionally, hand sanitizer is also essential to maintain proper hygiene and slow down the spread of the virus, always accompanied by proper hand washing. But beware! We must remember that if we are exposed to the sun, the gel can cause burns, so that’s the only situation where it would not be advisable.
The summer of small groups
Traveling with large groups of friends or with the whole family should be better left for next summer. This year, the stars will be the trips with close family (those we live with), trips in pairs, or with two or three friends, as it will be easier to comply with the occupancy reductions in establishments and recommendations to avoid crowds. Think about it this way, it will be easier to agree on plans… let’s look on the bright side! We’ll have time to resume group trips. The more precautions we take now, the sooner we’ll return to normality.
Choose your destination wisely
The typical vacation destinations are great, and they ensure compliance with all sanitary measures to guarantee safety. However, it could also be a great time to change and discover some of the incredible corners we have in our country. Beaches, mountains, villages, cities… there is everything! But do stay up to date with the rules established in each place, as some spots may require extra measures or have set visiting hours. But, without a doubt, outdoor places and natural spaces where not too many people gather are the best options for this summer.
Let’s keep calm
The situation we’re living through as a society affects us all, making us very aware of the need for caution and compliance with safety and hygiene rules. Similarly, in hotels and other establishments, a series of protocols have been implemented to protect the health of both visitors and staff. Common areas are disinfected frequently, technology is prioritized to reduce contact with any type of surface, and schedules are set to avoid crowding and ensure the appropriate occupancy level. If you're interested in knowing more details, here you can learn more about all the prevention policies established in our hotels, which have earned us the international ‘Global Safe Site’ certification by Bureau Veritas. Therefore, we must know that worrying isn’t bad and helps us be more cautious, but at the same time, we shouldn’t let fear stop us from continuing with our lives. If we all comply and avoid exposing ourselves to risky situations, we’ll be able to enjoy a safe vacation. Enjoy the summer, we’ll get through this together!
