In 2022, the ambitious project to restore the splendor of an old hotel located in the locality of Nestares began through its renovation, as it was in a decadent state at that time, transforming it into a tourist accommodation project with 47 vacation apartments and a spa. For this, they relied on the incentive of the grant related to the "Energy Rehabilitation with Existing Buildings in Demographic Challenge Municipalities" program (PRE5000 program), in the territory of the Cantabria community funded by the European Union's Next Generation EU funds. The main objective was to construct a building with the highest energy efficiency by using not only optimal construction materials in this regard but also for its daily operation, a biomass system was used, specifically pellets, a type of fuel that generates a large amount of heat with very little waste, as well as a clean renewable energy with great energy efficiency. Additionally, as an added system, a photovoltaic installation has been implemented to convert solar energy into electricity, using photovoltaic cells that support the more efficient maintenance of the area designated for spa relaxation.

A photovoltaic installation project (30.80Kw) has been carried out, under the incentive program linked to self-consumption and storage, with renewable energy sources, as well as the implementation of renewable thermal systems in the residential sector within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union - Next GenerationEU.
