Bodeguita Romero | "The Best Tapas in Seville"

If there is a unanimous choice for "the best tapas in Seville," it is thanks to Bodeguita Romero. A venue with 70 years of history where you can try the papas arrugas with the most authentic dressing in the city.

If you go, don't forget to ask for the classic "montadito de pringá" (a type of sandwich with boiled meats), which won the international Foodie Hub competition in 2015 and is one of Seville's typical tapas.

Address: No matter where you come from, it’s on your way, just a few steps from the Cathedral. Calle Harinas 10, in the old Arenal neighborhood.

Opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday from 13:00 to 17:00 and 20:30 to 24:00. Sunday from 13:00 to 17:00. Closed on Mondays.

Bar Blanca Paloma | More history in Triana

Bar Blanca Paloma is another of the most typical recommendations from Seville locals for eating and enjoying tapas in central Seville. Its mussel bite has been a staple of tapas since they opened in 1970. Another plus is that they accept reservations, so you can secure a table after an intense day of sightseeing. The same owners have a restaurant nearby, on San Jacinto street, in case you’re still hungry after your tapas, although that’s unlikely since the bar’s menu is extensive and changes daily to offer the best seasonal dishes from Seville.

Address: Calle Pagés del Corro, 86. It’s on the other side of the river; if you stay at the Silken Al-Andalus Hotel in Seville, we recommend taking bus 03 from Avenida Holanda and getting off at the Pagés del Corro stop.

Opening hours: Monday to Saturday from 12:30 to 16:30 and 20:30 to 24:00. Closed on Sundays.

El Rinconcillo | The Oldest Bar in Seville

Open since 1670, El Rinconcillo claims the title of the oldest bar in Seville. It’s a classic of Seville’s tapas scene, and few places slice ham as well as they do. Also highly recommended are their spinach with chickpeas. When you go, don’t forget to look at the walls and floor, as some of the tiles date back to the 17th and 18th centuries.

They also offer tasting menus and reserve rooms for groups.

Address: Calle Gerona 40. If you stay at our hotel in Seville, it’s best to take bus 01 from Avenida Manuel Siurot and get off at María Auxiliadora (Puerta de Osario). It will take around 35 minutes.

Opening hours: Daily, from 13:00 to 1:30.

Bar Eslava | Award-Winning Tapas

If you could only choose one tapas bar in Seville to delight in both traditional tapas and the taste of modern and experimental gastronomy, it would be Bar Eslava.

A place where classic croquettes coexist with gems such as a low-temperature egg on boletus and truffle sponge (first prize Sevilla en Boca de Todos, 2010), or the cheese emulsion with tomato bread, anchovies, and green olives from Aljarafe (second prize Sevilla en Boca de Todos 2011).

Highly recommended are the desserts and anything with vegetables, as the seasonal produce comes from their own organic garden.

They also offer customized menus for businesses and events.

Address: North of the city, next to the Alameda de Hércules. Calle Eslava, 3, 41002 Seville. It’s very close to El Rinconcillo, so you can enjoy tapas from both bars in one trip.

Opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday from 13:30 to 16:00 and 20:30 to 24:00. Closed on Mondays. It’s recommended to arrive early, as it fills up quickly.
