News
GSMA, the organizer of the MWC, wants to highlight that this event is much more than mobile technology. For this reason, they have officially changed the name of the event, which goes from “Mobile World Congress” to just the acronym. “Intelligent connectivity marks the beginning of a new era of highly contextualized and personalized experiences, offered when and where desired,” they point out on their website. Thus, this edition will revolve around topics such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and big data. Undoubtedly, much more than phones. Below we highlight some of the most anticipated presentations:
First confirmed speakers
Nick Read, CEO of Vodafone Group; James Forese; Cher Wang, founder and CEO of HTC; and Rich Williams, CEO of Groupon, are three of the first confirmed speakers.
Trends
What will the future of the Internet of Things be like? Or how will this technology shape the way societies communicate? These are some of the questions that will mark the focus of the activities at this MWC 2019 in Barcelona.
Digital Planet
The Digital Planet space in pavilion 8.1 will be another novelty this year, with the presence of more than 200 application providers, e-commerce, and communication and marketing specialists focused on creating connected experiences and solutions aimed at impacting people's daily lives.
