Bleisure, the combination of leisure and business travel, an increasingly popular option

The way we travel, like other aspects of our lives, evolves over time, constantly incorporating new trends based on people's preferences and needs. An example of this is the growing popularity of bleisure, the combination of traditional business trips with leisure enjoyment during the same trip. According to the I Barómetro Turístico from consulting firm Brain Trust Consulting Services, 36% of people traveling for work decide to extend their stay in the destination they are visiting.
A way to make the most of your trip.
Although teleworking has gained momentum due to the situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, business trips are still on the rise, reinforced precisely by the relocation of workers from their work centers. These new remote work modalities make travel necessary for attending certain meetings, events, or face-to-face appointments in a place other than one’s usual residence. That's why many travelers choose to extend their stay and use the trip to explore the location or simply enjoy a break away from the routine. This combination of business and leisure gives rise to the term "bleisure."
Another study, conducted by Expedia - Unpacking Bleisure Traveler Trends, indicates that the 'bleisure traveler profile' is curious, restless, and dynamic. 38% of people with this bleisure profile travel every two months, usually solo, but occasionally they also bring their partner and/or family to extend the stay over the weekend.
If you haven't already, you're probably considering joining this practice.

Adequate spaces and additional services
Hotels have been preparing to meet the demands of this type of tourism for some time. In all our hotels, you'll find high-speed internet connectivity, as well as rooms with large desks and suitable chairs to carry out your workday with maximum comfort. We also have designated working areas in the common areas of some of our establishments, which are disinfected before and after each use and maintain the recommended social distancing, as well as within the rooms themselves. This, combined with the central locations of Silken Hotels, mostly urban, makes it easier for you to be just a step away from the best leisure options at each location if you decide to extend your stay, so you can optimize and enjoy your free time as you see fit.
Additionally, the restaurants in our hotels offer a wide selection of the best local cuisine, one of the most valued aspects in all bleisure studies. Sometimes, we get so immersed in our obligations and daily hustle that we miss out on the opportunities presented to us.
So, if you're planning your next work trip, we recommend you consider the possibilities offered by both your accommodation and the destination. It’s possible to find time to unwind, explore, and experience new things... even on a business trip!
We look forward to hosting you for your #SilkenExperience.
