April Fair 2024

Yes, just as the legendary song says, “Seville has a special color,” it shines more intensely during the Seville April Fair, when tradition fills every corner of the city with dance, music, gastronomy, folklore, and good humor. The Seville April Fair is one of the most popular festivals in Spain, welcoming hundreds of thousands of people each year in the city's streets. It is celebrated every year for a week and is characterized by the casetas, the rebujito, and cultural expressions in the form of colorful flamenco dresses.

When is the Seville April Fair 2024?

The dates of the Seville April Fair in 2024 will be from Sunday, April 14 to Saturday, April 20. Its program will include, as always, a large number of events and activities, including concerts, popular meals, horse parades, and sevillanas dancing and singing. The Fair will begin on Sunday the 14th at midnight with the traditional alumbrao and will end on Saturday at midnight with a great fireworks show. There will also be a pescaito dinner prior to the Fair's inauguration on Saturday, April 13.

Where is the Seville April Fair held?

The Seville Fair is held every year in a fairground located next to the Guadalquivir River, in the Los Remedios neighborhood. It is a very easily accessible area from the city center, both on foot and by public transport. The spaces of the April Fair are divided into three: El Real de la Feria, Calle del Infierno, and the parking lots. The Real de la Feria is the main area, where the casetas are located and where the horses parade, covering an area of 275,000 square meters. The Calle del Infierno is traditionally known as the amusement park next to El Real. This street is one of the liveliest at the Fair, especially for children, as it features shows, children’s rides, circus stalls, and raffles.

Attractions at the Seville April Fair 2024

During the Seville April Fair, you can visit the Muelle Nueva York. This is a riverside spot where you can enjoy a lovely gardened walk during this time and have a drink. The glow of the city lights over the river can be seen from the bars, restaurants, and clubs on the nearby terraces. The essence of the Seville April Fair is also its gastronomy: fried pescaíto, ham, cheese, chickpeas with cod, cold cuts, or salmorejo are just some of the tapas diners can enjoy alongside manzanillas, rebujitos, and beers.

Visit the Seville April Fair

The Seville April Fair lasts only one week, but the motto is to make the most of it. To ensure you don’t miss any detail, we suggest a plan for these days. We recommend starting by strolling through the fairgrounds and visiting the casetas of the Seville April Fair. Most Sevillians are members of some caseta and spend the April Fair inside celebrating with friends and family. Keep in mind that most are private, and you will only be able to enter some public casetas. Once inside, don’t miss the Calle del Infierno, full of rides, music, and noise. Another experience we recommend is eating at the Fair and trying the famous rebujito, the Fair’s signature drink, as well as the different tapas served throughout the grounds. The best part about the Seville April Fair taking place on the Guadalquivir River is that it offers a wide range of activities such as water sports, boat rides, enjoying the sun, or having a snack and a drink on the terraces by this fantastic river. Also, don’t forget to enjoy the views of the famous Torre del Oro, the colorful houses on Betis Street in Triana, and more; your photos will look postcard-perfect.
