For the first time, Andorra will host the Alpine Skiing World Cup Finals. They will be held at the Grandvalira ski resort from March 11 to 17, 2019, with a potential audience of up to 700 million viewers. We review the schedule, ticket prices, where to stay, and much more.
Schedule
During the competition days, the top 25 skiers in each of the 5 disciplines (downhill, super-G, slalom, giant slalom, and super combined) will compete for the trophy in the men’s and women’s categories. In total, the following awards will be contested:
- 10 Crystal Globes, awarded to those who achieve the highest score in each specialty.
- 2 Large Crystal Globes, for the best male and female skiers overall.
- 2 Nations Cups, for the countries whose skiers have achieved the highest total score in the overall men’s and women’s classifications.

Additionally, every day from 5 PM to 9 PM, the Après-Ski party will take place with a wide repertoire of DJs at the Abarset (El Tarter). Right next door, there will be an exhibition area to learn about the latest innovations and trends in skiing materials and equipment.
Tickets
If you want to attend the Alpine Skiing World Cup Finals at Grandvalira, you can do so for free from the stands. Another option is to purchase a VIP ticket with continuous catering service and privileged views, among other benefits. The VIP ticket prices are 290 euros per person for a day pass, 550 euros for two days, or 1,160 euros for the full pass.
Location
The World Cup Finals will be held between the Avet slopes (Grandvalira-Soldeu) and the iconic Àliga (Grandvalira-El Tarter).
- AVET SLOPE STANDS - Grandvalira Soldeu sector
With a capacity of 1,518 seats, you can reach this stand from the Soldeu gondola building.
- ÀLIGA SLOPE STANDS - Grandvalira El Tarter sector
With 1,069 seats, the entrance is located right next to the lower part of the TSD4 El Tarter, accessible from the Tarter gondola parking, L’Abasert. From this stand, you will have a perfect view of the finish area. Additionally, giant screens will be installed so you don’t miss any action from the competitors.
Online game
Parallel to the Alpine Skiing World Cup Finals, the Grandvalira ski resort has organized an online game with identical reproductions of the original races. Throughout the season, several virtual competitions will be organized.
