The art of our time. Masterpieces from the Guggenheim Collections celebrates twenty years of collaboration between the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation and the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. This shows that evokes the exhibition that the Museum was inaugurated in 1997, reflects the development of artistic Guggenheim Funds Network, and evidence of evolution and maturity of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, become over the years a reference international. The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao presents the video installation entitled The Krazyhouse Rineke Dijkstra (Megan, Simon, Nicky, Philip, Dee), Liverpool, UK, 2009. In her five teenagers dancing so lonely for the camera, against a white background and are of the music of his generation. The artist met these young people in a nightclub in Liverpool which is called The Krazyhouse and recorded in a makeshift studio on the premises. The planes of three quarters of young people are interspersed with close-ups of their faces, which clearly shows his facial expression. The music each portrayed chosen varies from pop to heavy metal or techno. Niki de Saint Phalle (1930-2000) is one of the most influential creators of the second half of the twentieth century. This Franco-American artist received an education in line with the social codes of New York’s upper class. However, his unique worldview, their rebellion and creativity joined to not follow the script was already written for her. The Matter of Time (The Matter of Time, 1994-2005) is the most complete reflection of rumination on the physicality of space and the nature of sculpture. It consists of seven sculptures the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao commissioned Serra, who joined Snake (Snake, 1994-97) and are installed permanently in the largest room of the building by Frank O. Gehry. Freed from the traditional pedestal and once immersed in the real space of the observer, Richard Serra sculpture enters into a new relationship with the spectator, whose experience with the object becomes an essential part of its meaning. The Matter of Time allows us to perceive the evolution of the artist’s sculpted forms, from a relatively sen- cilla double ellipse to the more complex spiral. As viewers walk in and around them, these are transformed unexpectedly, creating a dizzying, unforgettable sensation of space in motion
