  • The essence of Pyrenees

Baqueira Beret is the largest ski resort in Spain with a transport capacity of 57,983 skiers / hour, a skiable area of 2,166 ha, 146 km of tracks footsteps, 7 km of itineraries, 7 km cross-country skiing and 1,000 meters unevenness.
Baqueira Beret, opened on December 6, 1964, is located in the Aran Valley, Lleida province and since 2003 part of its tracks run through the neighboring valley, the Valley of Aneu, across the Puerto de la Bonaigua . It is the only Spanish station located on the northern slopes of the Pyrenees.

From the station, you may discover peaks of mountains over 3,000 meters high, such as Maladeta and Aneto. The alternative winter offer includes sleigh rides, horse or dogs-drawn, trips to the semi-abandoned town Montgarri, cross country skiing and snowshoeing and snowmobiling.
The Aran Valley, a great beauty with alpine landscape, has preserved its traditional architecture, wood and stone houses with slate roofs, even in the new constructions. All small towns have a Romanesque church. It also has a great choice of hotels and après-ski activities that may include: hot springs, ice palace, museums, cultural tours, cinema, horse riding, visit to the valley caviar factory, bars and nightclubs.
Its cuisine is very extensive. Over 200 restaurants offer a renowned cuisine with French influence (the valley is bordering with France) but also Basque, Catalan and local food, with its highest representation in the "Olla (pot) Aranesa".
